Holy Crap – It’s been a year!
First off – THANK YOU to EVERYONE who helped out in any way for this party. We really couldn’t have done it without you. We are endlessly grateful to have so many amazing friends and family.
We had Adalyn’s party on June 15th (a week before she actually turns 1) to maximize my time between treatments and take advantage of being over a week removed from the last one. It worked well, as I was slow but had a great time and got along just fine. The day started with a whirlwind of activity that had both sets of Grandparents with all hands on deck. There was cleaning, setting up tables, chairs, canopy and games and picking up food. (Que Yakety Sax music) The only thing that didn’t go according to plan was the fact that Adalyn decided she wasn’t going to take a nap AT ALL that day. Thankfully, she pushed through fairly well.
We had a great turnout of family and friends who came from near and far to celebrate our beautiful baby’s big day. We had a lemonade theme, complete with Adalyn’s own lemonade stand, made by her Nana and Papa Jones. She was unsure of what to do with her smash cake, but after a little bit of patience and some help, Adalyn really took to the sweet stuff. She sure was messy and enjoyed a bath in the kitchen sink. Once a wardrobe change was complete, Adalyn opened up all of the amazing gifts she got. She sure is loved!
Adalyn’s sugar crash came around 7:30 p.m. and she willingly went to bed. The adults and bigger kids stuck around a little longer and completed the night with a fire and s’mores. One thing is for sure, we ALL slept well that night!
Wish we could have shared in this special day! Seems just yesterday we held her for the first time! Looks like she had an awesome day surrounded by her loving family and friends. Sending you positive energy and LOVE! Love, the Leipheimers XO
